I chose the 6" over the 4" for a more meaningful gift. It arrived in perfect condition in a black box with silver ribbon.I love the packaging. I placed it in a beautiful gift bag full of colorful tissue paper. Because only the retirement date is on it she can display it for years to come. She plans to travel extensively during retirement.

The compass is in reality as shown. It is a beautiful piece of art work. It will add aesthetically to any location where it is placed. My only suggestion is that the personal message be printed on a small card rather than the "sticky" paper used for the receipt and info.

Bought as a gift for a military member who served 30 yrs in the Air Force. Since they were continuing work in the civilian sector it was a great gift of inspiration for their next journey. My daughter loved the look, the inscription and the meaning of a compass helping her find direction during this next chapter of her life. The only drawback is the box it arrived in. It was falling apart. I'm not giving less stars as the product is great and after ordering several items from here, this is the first time the box was in such bad shape.

This turned out beautifully. I cannot wait to present it to the recipient. I ordered the gift box with the item already packaged. It seems like it could have used a bit more tissue to give it a more secure feeling, especially for the price of the packaging. I will add some before gifting it.

The compass was a beautiful idea; however, it fits in the palm of the average lady's hand. I just knew it would be the size of a small plate...it is beautiful, but way too small!
