I bought this for my fiancé and he absolutely loved it. First thing I noticed was that it’s a heavy chunk of slate and not cheap plastic. It looks great in the kitchen.

The slate is a nice size. The imprint is clear, though the letters at the bottom are a little smaller than I expected. I liked being able to add personal comments about the person. I would recommend this as a gift.

I got this for my Mom's Birthday this year because I wanted to memorialize my siblings' and my time in the kitchen with her. Both my parents are self taught chefs/bakers and love to entertain. It runs in the family. They were both very touched by the personalized marqui slate. I love that I could personalize it exactly the way I wanted to. It's also practical as you can see from the pic. All of these features made it very special for not just my parents but my family. Great gift!

It's so difficult to get a gift that is personal and means something. This slate sign fit the bill! My husband loves to grill, and it's the only time he cooks :) So I would always ask, "Is Philipo's cafe open?" when I didn't feel like cooking. The sign made him smile and gives him his personal space for creating.

I ordered this plaque for my Aunt's new house as a Christmas gift. She loved the personalized poem that I wrote on the bottom and the chalkboard design. My only caution is that the personalized message comes out in really small font.

My husband and I ordered the slate for friends who do tons of camping. We had fun putting camping rules on the slate and the best part is they can use the back as a chalkboard to write notes. Great gift! Very personal!

This is a very heavy slate sign. The quality is excellent. The engraving beautiful. I am so impressed that I will order another one as a gift. Great item.

Quality chalkboard. Nice & heavy. But, the print is SO light in some or most areas - I can hardly read it! Hope it doesn’t fade more over time.

this was just as I expected but I only wish the engraving was darker (or brighter as it was white lettering) but other than that it was great! thank you

The front of the plate looks fine, but the back of the slate looks messy. Looks like grease on the back. Contacted customer service, and was told it was "natural color" of the plate. They don't take return or provide replacement.
Not a pleasant gift.
